FWGA had three wonderful days in the Plumas National Forest playing golf. We couldn’t have picked a more beautiful place. Each day the tournaments got a little more difficult and Grizzly Ranch was up to the task.
We had 17 players stay and play on Monday. The game was “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”. The good was 3 low net scores (par 3’s). The Bad was 2 low net scores (par 4’s). The Ugly was 1 high net score (par 5’s)
1st place winners with 126 points: Betty McCabe, Gary Smith, Liz Riddle and Della Gutierrez
2nd place winners with 128 points: Alleen Hodgkin, Barry Hodgkin, and Mindi Canner (plus blind draw)
Closest to the pin: Della Gutierrez at 4’8”
Low gross men: Jim Salvi
Low gross women: Della Gutierrez
Low net men: Pat Tuohy
Low net women: Liz Riddle
Congratulations to all, it was a fabulous time!
FWGA would like to thank Liz Riddle for coordinating the Grizzly Ranch Tournament
On day two of three of FWGA”s Invitationals, players were treated with amazing views of the Plumas County mountains from every hole of the Dragon at Nakoma Golf Resort. The course can be a humbling experience, but we all Whack ‘N’ Hack’ed our way through – two of the net scores were combined of each 4-person team – one low net ball and one high net ball – lowest team score won. Our “high-altitude” winners were:
1st Place Team: Liz Riddle, Betty McCabe and her guest, Gary Smith
2nd Place Team: Dee & Pat Touhy with Tami & Don Waddel
Closest to Pin #5 Diane King at 37’7″
Closest to Pin #8 Pat Tuohy at 3’5″
Closest to Pin #13 Jim Salvi at 16’3″
Closest to Pin #17 Dee Tuohy at 3’6″
Low Gross: Liz Riddle at 88
Low Net: Dee Tuohy at 67
A well deserved congratulations to each of you for your accomplishments on the Dragon! And mountainous thanks to our volunteers: Dee Tuohy, Diane King and her son, Matt O’Brien, for their expertise and patience in scoring; to Della Gutierrez for taking her award winning photos; and to Mindi Canner for assisting with registration and for the laughter!
FWGA would like to thank Alleen Hodgkin for coordinating the Nakoma Tournament.
