Tournament Coordinator’s Recap
After the August heat wave, the cool & breezy day was a welcome relief for the 24 participants at Oakland’s Metropolitan Golf Course on August 17, 2019. The co-chairwomen provided bottled water and yummy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies to each player.
The tournament’s game format: Ship – Captain – Crew provided a fun day of golf for the 7 teams!! Good news from the Pro Shop: We could take relief from mud or dirt patches ONLY on the fairway during our tournament play!

The winners were as follows:
Team Awards:
1st Place = Team 3: Therese Johnson, Ruta Rudisill, Diane King & Jen Shaull @ 129
2nd Place = Team 5: Junko Nagatani, Masayo Jiang, Charlotte Moon & Sandi Prairie @ 133
3rd Place = Team 1 & Team 2 each scored 138. Team 2: LaLani Rapp, Yvonne Perkins, Liz Riddle & Karla Witte (a new FWGA member) won 3rd place based on their scores on the back 9.

Special Awards:
Closest to the Hole # 5 = Masayo Jiang at 10’2”
Closest to the Hole # 12 = Diane King at 18’6”
Closest to the Hole # 15 = Jen Shaull @ 5’4”

Low Gross = Jen Shaull @ 86
Low Net = Diane King @ 69
