We had a wonderful time on Sunday, October 14th at Dublin Ranch Golf Course. The Theme this year was Oktoberfest and everyone came out in their lederhosen and dirndl’s for essen, golfen and frolic sein (eat, golf and be merry)!
The winning players of the 2018 FWGA Annual Scramble were:
1st Place: Team Score 61 Terri Malatesta, Linda Rothchild, Pat White and Alice Schultz
2nd Place: Team Score 63 Dee Tuohy, Kay Middleton, Denise Qualls and April Kenyon
3rd Place: Team Score 64 Nancy Dulcan, Sharon Medairy, Michelle Landreth and Susan Lewis (guests of Nancy Dulcan)
4th Place: Team Score 66 Liz Riddle, Debbie Hellmann, Della Gutierrez and Kelly Leon
Closest to Hole #4: Yvonne Perkins 11′ 3″
Closest to Hole #13: Alice Hansen 7′ 1/2″
Closest to Hole #17: Linda Rothchild 4’5″
Awards were also presented for most improved player of the year to Bridget Buford with a beginning handicap of 40.4 and an ending handicap of 32.0. The Birdie Board award went to Della Gutierrez with a total of 7 birdies during the 2018 tournaments. Volunteer of the Year went to our Board Member, LaLani Rapp for her excellent handling of our Website and Membership account. Players Championship went to Diane King. The Club Championship will be awarded at the December meeting. Congratulations to all.
Our thanks to April Kenyon for a super job coordinating the putting contest again this year. The winners were Therese Johnson and Sally Panella.
The Cart Contest winners were the team of Alice Hansen, Vida Molinairi, Louise Kennedy and Caryl Diller.
The Best Costume for a team went to Ruta Rudisill, Mary Harrison, Kelly Tague and Jan Moura.

A special thank you to Diane King and Shelly Kopp for all their efforts in putting together the prizes for the Silent Auction and Raffle gifts. This year’s Charity was The ARC of Alameda. Diane provided a wonderful video for all to see. A check will be presented to The ARC at our December 1st breakfast meeting at Crow Canyon Country Club.
Thanks to all who participated in putting this event together. Volunteerism is what FWGA is based on and it always comes together for events like this.
