Tournament Coordinators Recap:

On August 5th, FWGA had their tournament at Presidio Golf Course. Seven foursomes traveled to San Francisco to experience the cold foggy weather, a change from the East Bay. The format was “Ship, Captain, Crew”, where the team took the lowest net score for the first six holes, the two lowest net scores for the second six holes and the three lowest net scores for the last six holes. There was a card off for first place.

Congratulations are in order to first place winners Terri Malatesta, Julie Campiotti, Therese Johnson and Meg Walsh with a net score of 124. Congratulations to the team of Pat White, Alice Schultz, Judith Coleman-Cohen and Sharon Greene which took second place also with a net score of 124. Congratulations also go to the team of Joan McCarthy, Pat Charles, Sandra Prairie and Mimi Johnson-Jacobs who took third place with a score of 126.

Lastly, the team of Liz Riddle, Della Gutierrez, Alleen Hodgkin and Mindi Canner each parred the 18th hole. Congratulations also go to Masayo Jiang for Closest to the Pin on hole #4 at 6’8”, and to Shirley Lin for Closest to the Pin on hole #15 at 6’3”. Shirley Lin was awarded Low Gross at 90, and Alice Hanson had Low Net at 64. Birdies were made by Pat White, Julie Campiotti, Shirley Lin (2 birdies), Terri Malatesta and Linda Dobb. Great job, ladies!

A special shout out to Meg Walsh as tournament photographer and to Liz Riddle and Della Guttierez for tallying up the scores. And, of course, a big thanks to Alleen Hodgkin for all of her tournament advice and guidance and help on the tournament day.
