2017 FWGA Holiday Brunch a great success!

The Women of FWGA donned our festive attire and met at Boundary Oak for our Annual Holiday Brunch on Saturday December 10th. After an hour of socializing and shopping with our old and new friends, we were served a delicious brunch in Boundary’s newly decorated banquet room.

We were next treated to a fun fashion show narrated by John Vetter, our representative from Antiqua and EP Pro. Our member models were Vivienne Sun, Ruta Rudisill, Kathi Kling, Carol Wallace, Sally Panella, Carol Wallace, and Wendy Ngoy. As usual, they put on a great show with lots of great outfits for next season.

After acknowledging all of the new and out-going board members, President, Liz Riddle, introduced Denise Qualls, our Charities chair. Denise thanked everyone for their support this year of all of the FWGA activities especially the annual funding raising tournament. As Charities Chair, Denise had set a high goal for herself this year of $10,000. She was happy to announce we had surpassed that goal and was able to present checks of over $5000 to each of our two Charities: First Tee of The East Bay and Shepherds Gate of Livermore.

Sandee Wiedeman, from Shepherds Gate, was very touched by our donation. She explained how it would be used to provide long-term, comprehensive care to women and children experiencing homelessness due to poverty, addicition, and domestic violence in our area.

April Kenyon, Director of The First Tee of the East Bay thanked FWGA and talked about how our donation would be used to provide programs that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf to youth in the East Bay. She introduced us again to Alana and Jada from First Tee and asked them to tell us how this program has helped them. It is exciting for us to see the girls over the years grow not only in their golf game but also in their poise and confidence.

Liz expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone in FWGA who has volunteered to continue to make our organization a success and for us to be able to support such important charities.

The event ended with more shopping and socializing. Teresa Alder once again brought her golf cart seats for sale. She had some fun new designs to keep our bums warm this winter. John as usual had a table full of great golf clothes. Our thanks go to John and Teresa.

Thanks to Pat Charles, Event Chair and all of her volunteers for making the event such a great success.

Holiday Wishes to all and we look forward to another great FWGA year!
