The ladies of Fore Women Golf Group dawned their creative, colorful beach outfits, flip-flops and braved the rainstorm to attend a luncheon/fund raiser at Dublin Ranch Golf Club. What fun we all had!
April Kenyon, our golf guru, was determined to hold her putting contest and found an empty hallway to set up her course. It was a riot! There was lots of laughter coming from that room. Putting on carpet gave some an advantage and the winners were:
1^st place: Betty McCabe, Sally Panella, Sandy Prairie and Janis Salvi   2^nd place: Liz Riddle, Della Gutierrez, Debbie Hellmamm and Mimi Johnson-Jacobs
After a pre-luncheon happy hour with delectable hors d’oeurves and cocktails, a buffet luncheon was served. As the ladies took their places at colorful beach themed tables our President, Liz Riddle took the podium and started the raffle fun.

The bidding was fierce for the fabulous gift baskets donated by members, community organizations/businesses and of course golf courses.  All members received a copy of donations and raffle prizes ahead of time and we encourage everyone to thank these businesses and support them.  Some of the fabulous prizes were a Russian River retreat and winetasting, Scott’s gift certificate, Spa at the Park certificate, golf clothes, golf lessons, 14 golf certificates and of course the cookie baskets, to name just a few.

Our fabulous Denise Qualls, donations chair, took the mike and Kay Middleton drew numbers. Our members were able to select their own prizes this year which added to the fun. We’ve decided that Denise could have a new occupation as an emcee! Liz will announce our proceeds at our Holiday Party, Saturday, December 10 at Boundary Oaks Golf Course in Walnut Creek where we will provide checks to our chosen charities.

Volunteers for our organization were recognized and given bright pink 20^th anniversary towels.

Special thanks go to the Catering manager, staff, and the tournament manager at Dublin Ranch for accommodating us with the unusual circumstances of the day. They not only arranged to turn the event into a luncheon but they are graciously refunding most of our money for the golf portion. Please be sure to thank them when you play their course.

Even though we were all disappointed that we didn’t get to play, we want to thank Alleen Hodgkin, Tournament Director, for all of her hard work setting up the tournament.

Pat Charles, Event Chair, thanked all the FWGA ladies who worked hard to make our event a success. And thank you Pat, we all had a great time!
