The final event of the year for FWGA was a big success and enjoyed by all. The Holiday Brunch and Fashion show was held at the lovely Round Hill Country Club on Saturday, December 12 and attended by 75 members and guests including the young ladies and their mothers from First Tee of the East Bay.
Attendees came early to shop for gifts and a little something for themselves. Thanks to our three vendors, John, Steve and Teresa who provided us with a great selection of the latest in golf fashion and cart seat covers.
During brunch, we were treated to our Annual Fashion show modeled by our FWGA members, Joanne Larson, Kathi Kling, Wendy Ngoy, Meredith Weiland, Judith Coleman-Cohen and two of our First Tee young ladies, Alana and Jasmine. The models had a great time on the run-way and in showing off a great selection of golf attire.
Our out-going President, Della Gutierrez, introduced the board and thanked all of the out-going board members for their hard work the last two years. She introduced the new incoming board who will be organizing all of our upcoming activities and thanked all of the volunteers who give of their time this year to make this and the many other FWGA events a success.
Every year FWGA donates money to our annually selected charity from funds collected from our events. This year’s charity recipient was First Tee of the East Bay. This organization helps build character of youth through golf and their nine core values. April Kenyon, a FWGA member and the Executive Director of the program was presented with a check of $5,785.20. She invited the young women from First Tee to share their thoughts on what they have gained from the program and to share some of the amazing opportunities they have experienced by their participation. Members enjoyed seeing how these young women have matured over the years.
Della introduced Liz Riddle, our incoming president. Liz thanked the our going board members and especially Della who has served on the board for the past six years. She is excited about next year’s activities like the 20th Anniversary Reunion Golf Tournament.
Great lunch, great shopping and another great year for FWGA!
Happy Holiday to Everyone!
