Each year between Easter and Mother’s Day, FWGA has an away weekend in Copperopolis. We usually try to play SaddleCreek and Greenhorn. Members stay in houses they rent for the weekend, cottages at the golf course or hotels in Angels Camp. It is a great start to the golf season. This year was no exception. Here is the write up for the first day of the tournament. Day one of our SaddleCreek away tournament was rewarded with fantastic weather. No rain, no jackets, just lots of sun and fun. We thank Betty McCabe and Sally Panella for the registration and Sandy Gonzales recorded all with her camera. To see all the pictures from the weekend check them out SaddleCreek Pictures. A very special thanks to Liz Riddle, Sandy Gonzales and Shirley Walker who hosted the after golf awards ceremony and cocktail party. One of my guests sampled all the delicious food and tried a Cosmo, Lemon Drop and Chocolatini! I think I can safely say a good time was had by all. As Bo Rothchild said “see you all in Monterey.” Dee Tuohy
After leaving the cocktail and appetizer party, some members ventured into Angels Camp for dinner, others went back to the SaddleCreek club house for dinner and some had a putting contest back at the Saddlecreek putting green followed by a competitive game of Mexican Train Dominoes.
